Job Description:

The City of Louisiana is seeking a hardworking individual to join our Parks and Grounds team on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of city parks, recreational facilities and public grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, planting and watering
  • Maintain cleanliness of parks and public areas by picking up trash, emptying trash and recycling receptacles, and cleaning restrooms or facilities
  • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers and power tools
  • Assist with minor repairs to park facilities, playgrounds and equipment as needed
  • Perform seasonal tasks, including snow removal, leaf collection and assisting with special events
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and procedures during all tasks

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping, groundskeeping, or general maintenance preferred
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate tools and small machinery safely and effectively
  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Must be able to pass initial drug screening and random drug tests throughout employment

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Hours may vary depending on the season and weather conditions.
